The renowned Cyberathlete Professional League, better known as the CPL, is hosting their annual Winter Championships event, which will take place from December 15th to December 19th, 2004 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Dallas, Texas, USA. This will be the first time for astralis to participate in a CPL event and it will surely be interesting to see how our new lineup will perform.

Tournaments held under this event will be in games such as Day of Defeat, Doom 3 and Painkiller. Painkiller in particular being one of the most hyped-up games of the year, added the fact that it's the official game of next years CPL World Tour, will be an exciting competition to follow and to see whether it catches on in communities worldwide.

The Counter-Strike competition, though, is the most likely to be followed by fans worldwide. The turnout to this year's fight has been much smaller than expected. With only 58 teams registered so far, it seems that most teams do not have the financial backup to get to this event. It's going to be interesting to see the outcome of the tournament and the final standings.
